| In level 3 we did the movements highlighted in the grid below |
| However, these movements occured only in the two mixed plane positions, |
| F | F | F | B | F | T | F | CF | F | CB | F | CT | F | C |
| B | F | B | B | B | T | B | CF | B | CB | B | CT | B | C |
| T | F | T | B | T | T | T | CF | T | CB | T | CT | T | C |
| CF | F | CF | B | CF | T | CF | CF | CF | CB | CF | CT | CF | C |
| CB | F | CB | B | CB | T | CB | CF | CB | CB | CB | CT | CB | C |
| CT | F | CT | B | CT | T | CT | CF | CT | CB | CT | CT | CT | C |
| C | F | C | B | C | T | C | CF | C | CB | C | CT | C | C |
| Could these basic movements be used to form an algorithm similiar to the level 3 algorithm but |
| useful in both the Vertical and Horizontal plane? |
| Lets look at the possibilities. |
| Because we have four different replacements for the Mirror movement |
| that means we have four possible algorithms. |
| Lets look at all four of those algorithms using the 1,1 start position |
| in the Horizontal Plane |
| | | 1 | 1 | | | 1 | 1 | | | 1 | 1 | | | 1 | 1 |
| F | F | 2 | 2 | F | F | 2 | 2 | F | F | 2 | 2 | F | F | 2 | 2 |
| C | C | b | b | CT | CT | d | d | CF | CB | c | a | CB | CF | a | c |
| F | B | c | a | F | B | a | c | F | B | d | d | F | B | b | b |
| T | T | a | c | T | T | c | a | T | T | b | b | T | T | d | d |
| F | F | b | d | F | F | d | b | F | F | c | c | F | F | a | a |
| C | C | 2 | 4 | CT | CT | 2 | 4 | CF | CB | 4 | 2 | CB | CF | 4 | 2 |
| F | B | 3 | 3 | F | B | 3 | 3 | F | B | 1 | 1 | F | B | 1 | 1 |
| T | T | 1 | 1 | T | T | 1 | 1 | T | T | 3 | 3 | T | T | 3 | 3 |
| | | | | | | | | F | F | 4 | 4 | F | F | 4 | 4 |
| | | | | | | | | CF | CB | a | c | CB | CF | c | a |
| | | | | | | | | F | B | b | b | F | B | d | d |
| | | | | | | | | T | T | d | d | T | T | b | b |
| | | | | | | | | F | F | a | a | F | F | c | c |
| | | | | | | | | CF | CB | 2 | 4 | CB | CF | 2 | 4 |
| | | | | | | | | F | B | 3 | 3 | F | B | 3 | 3 |
| | | | | | | | | T | T | 1 | 1 | T | T | 1 | 1 |
| The Double Change (CC) and the Double Change Transquarter |
| (CT/CT) return to the start after only two repetitions. |
| The CF/CB and CB/CF options return to the start after four. |
| That makes them a little more interesting and also stays closer |
| to the spirit of the original Level 3 algorithm. |
| So lets pick the CF/CB option and build an advanced |
| Level 3 Algorithm. |
| Horizontal Plane | |
| | FF, Double Forwards (both arms forwards) |
| | CFCB, Left Arm Change Forwards (Right Arm Change Backwards) |

Awesome to see someone else playing with their own versions of Level 3. I was intrigued that you started 11 rather than (using your notation) 1a. Was that just to try something different?
P.S. The pdf link doesn't work for me, I get a 404 error.
The reason was that I wanted an algorithm that I could use for both the mixed plane positions (one hand vertical one hand horizontal) as well as in the positions where both hands are vertical or both hands are horizontal.
Thanks for fixing the links, and I've subscribed to the new blog - I look forward to hearing more about what you do with DoS.
